Current Programs & Services
The mission of Christian Women’s Job Corps of Granbury is to enrich the lives of women in need by providing them with an education in life and job skills as well as Christian values.
To this end, we provide the following programs and services:
- Education — Instruction sessions on life and job skills are held throughout the year. The schedule is routinely reexamined.
- Computer Training
- Communication skills
- Family life
- Health and nutrition
- Money management
- Life skills
- Job readiness skills (resume writing, interviewing, etc.)
- Enhanced curriculum — includes guest speakers, field trips, audio-visual presentations, hands-on computer training and Internet job searches.
- Bible study
- Mentors
- Community support
- Network of social service agencies, churches, businesses — CWJC strives to work with existing area agencies and services to provide a comprehensive approach to meeting participants’ needs: spiritual, mental, emotional, educational and social.
- Board of Directors — The board is comprised of area business professionals, interdenominational church leadership, medical professionals, educators and volunteers.
- Professional counseling
- Business clothing — In conjunction with Stein Mart, the Dignity-U-Wear Foundation donates new clothing to CWJC graduates.
- Lunches — Free lunches, prepared by volunteers, are available onsite for the participants who are attending training.
