Christian Women’s Job Corps of Granbury was created to provide job and life skills training to women who need to develop skills for employment.

In order to empower these women for success, the following criteria are used as a guideline for acceptance into the program:

Criteria For Acceptance

  1. An applicant must be willing to accept the program requirements in areas of responsibility and self-sufficiency with a desire to gain skills and knowledge for employment.

  2. An applicant must be physically and emotionally employable. She may be receiving disability, but still employable for a part-time position. If the applicant is receiving disability treatment by a doctor or counselor, she must request a letter from the person providing treatment stating her level of employability.

  3. An applicant must exhibit the emotional maturity and educational background to successfully participate in CWJC classes.

  4. An applicant must have her high school diploma, high school equivalency GED or may be admitted at the discretion of the Site Coordinator.

  5. An applicant must agree to a background check. The background check is reviewed for violent crime convictions and convictions for sexual crimes with children. Applicants with other types of convictions are reviewed and accepted at the discretion of the Site Coordinator. (This training program was created to offer a second chance to women in need.)

  6. An applicant must exhibit the willingness to make changes in behavior that will result in personal and spiritual growth.

  7. An applicant must be able to provide her own transportation to the training program. As funding is available, a gas allowance can be provided to help the participants come and go to class only.

  8. Childcare during the training program is provided, as funding is available.

  9. An applicant with recent or current alcohol or drug dependency issues must have ninety days of sobriety and demonstrate consistent attendance in a 12 step program, such as Celebrate Recovery, NA, AA, or GA, for at least 1 year following sobriety “birth” date. At the request of either the Executive Director or a Site Coordinator, the participant will provide written verification of group attendance. Admittance to and continuance in the CWJC program will be at the discretion of the CWJC Executive Director and/or Site Coordinator.
  1. CWJC of Granbury is not an employment agency. Our purpose is to provide job training and skills to maintain employment. However, we do network with employment agencies and provide job postings from the community as they become available.

  1. CWJC of Granbury accepts applicants from all religious backgrounds with no pressure to change their personal religious beliefs. We do, however, reserve the right to present information to them from a Bible-based perspective.

Childcare

CWJC strives to provide childcare for participants who need the service in order to attend classes. This service is not guaranteed, however. Each semester, childcare needs are evaluated on an individual participant basis.

If it is determined that a potential participant does indeed require childcare, childcare will be provided whenever possible.

CWJC uses licensed, local day care providers. The amount of funding available for childcare varies from year to year and is dependent upon donations and grants received.
